We handle your personal data in accordance with the GDPR and Estonian law.
When you make a purchase, we collect your name and email address in order to deliver the product, provide access, answer support requests and keep the accounting records required by law. The legal basis is the performance of our contract with you and our legal obligations. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
When you join a waiting list or ask to be notified about a forthcoming release, we collect the email address you give us, and your name if you choose to provide it. We use it only to send you the material we promised and to let you know when the release is ready, and from time to time when something new is created in this world. The legal basis is your consent, given when you submit the form. You may withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send you, or by writing to us. Withdrawing consent does not affect emails already sent.
When you visit the site, our hosting provider automatically logs technical data such as your IP address and browser type, for security and for the operation of the site. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the site running and secure.
Our products for children are sold to and set up by an adult. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. The children's stories on this website can be read, listened to and coloured without any account, login or registration, and no personal data of the child is collected, stored or transmitted. Purchases and mailing-list sign-ups are intended for adults aged 18 or over.
Stripe processes payments on our behalf — see stripe.com/privacy. Hostinger hosts this website and its database. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone else except where we are required to by law or where it is necessary for our accountant, bank or legal advisers to carry out their work.
We keep purchase and accounting records for seven years, as Estonian law requires. Mailing-list data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it, after which it is deleted.
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable form, and — where processing is based on consent — to withdraw that consent. To exercise any of these rights, write to hello@lifebeginsanew.com. We aim to respond within one month.

This website does not use advertising cookies and does not build advertising profiles. A session cookie is used to keep you signed in to the Sanctuary; it holds no personal data. Your language choice is stored locally in your browser and is never sent to us.
